Counselling by Pippa Bevan Wright MBACP

Private counselling for adults, young people and children

How I work

I work in an integrative way, which means that I will use the approach which fits best with the client, depending on what they have come to counselling for. For example, bereavement counselling will be different from someone wishing to overcome a phobia and counselling children will involve using therapeutic play skills, so depending on the age and need of the client the counselling will vary.

I will not give you advice or tell you what to do but support you in finding your own way, without judgement and will listen and reflect what is said, giving you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings about yourself and your relationships with others. We can work together through personal, psychological or emotional problems.

By working in a person centred way I use an integrative approach which may use the following types of therapy depending on the client’s need:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Behavioural Therapy

Solution Focussed Therapy

Transactional Analysis

Psychodynamic Therapy

Therapeutic play skills with children
